Instilling Trust

The investment in developing communication skills can pay off in the level of trust built in relationships.  In Patrick Lencione’s book Five Dysfunctions of a Team, he shows the development of trust as a foundational element to create energy in the team.  This in turn creates commitment and attention to results which ultimately leads to exponential productivity and return on investment.  Whoever called trust a “soft skill” did not look at the profit and loss generated by highly functioning teams built on trust.
